I didn't know what to expect as I managed to find this place by researching various beaches. I had a vision on what I wanted, it needed to look ‘other-worldly’, a type of desolate place and with a dark, melancholy feel.

Driving to this location was quite the opposite. It was very beautiful, there were moments when the narrow road hugged the mountains with a cliff drop on the other side, views out to rolling hills filled with native bush and lush forests, then back onto flat ground with nature’s canopy above and surrounding us either side.

We drove further and came out to the exposed coast whilst passing small local shops. After 40 minutes we reached a camp site car park and walked the rest of the way.

The clouds were threatening us with rain and the wind was challenging. I had found the desolate beach I was searching for, we walked through the sand avoiding the marshes which looked like scenes from Lord of the Rings. Everywhere I looked there was potential for shooting and I was slightly overwhelmed, however with the rain on it’s way we pushed onwards to the beach.

I couldn’t of been happier with the results I got!
